Harrison looking to build on Group School success
- Harrison
Harrison Catering Services have strengthened their operational structure with the promotion of Nicola Turk to General Manager Group Schools. Reporting to Gareth Harrison, Director Client Services, Nicola will take on management responsibility for the Local Authority contract in the London Borough of Wandsworth in addition to a large group of stand-alone contracts across Lambeth and Southwark. Nicola will work closely with the Managers Client Services responsible for these groups, in addition to continuing the development of the Local Authority primary and special schools contract in the London Borough of Lambeth.
Nicola has managed the catering requirements for 64 schools in some of London’s most challenging areas. Nicola set about creating a true partnership with the Local Authority, with both parties pooling their resources and expertise to create an outstanding school meal service. Results have been impressive, with the school meal uptake nudging 70% and most importantly, with the contract being re-awarded for a further 5 years in 2009.
In a further development, Bill Graney has been promoted to Senior Manager Client Services with special responsibility for Business Development in Group Schools. Bill has run the Local Authority contract for primary schools in Ealing since 2003 and has helped to develop the cutting-edge contract employed there. Recent figures show that meal uptake in Ealing grew 12.5% in 2009/10, versus the national average of 2.1%.
Geoffrey Harrison, founder and MD of Harrison Catering, said:
“This new structure will strengthen both operations and business development in group schools.”
