Harrison advocates healthier eating!
- Harrison
As we start a new year it is often the time we review our lifestyle choices including what we eat.
Public Health England (PHE), the executive body of the Department of Health and Social Care responsible for protecting and improving public health, has launched a new Change4Life nutrition campaign that aims to reduce sugar intake and help reduce childhood obesity. The campaign encourages swapping high sugar content items for similar products with a lower sugar level, and replacing them with healthier versions.
As a fresh food company Harrison continually reviews its recipe ingredients, and offers alternative and healthier ingredients where possible. Harrison chefs continuously create, test and produce new innovative, healthier and delicious dishes and aim to encourage customers to expand their enjoyment of food with new ingredients and flavours.
Creating your own food from scratch enables you to control the quantity of ingredients in your meal, with many advantages including being cost effective, planning of meals can help to reduce food waste, as well as producing the portion size that’s right for you. Portion size plays an important role in maintaining a healthy, balanced diet.
All Harrison customers are encouraged to make healthier food choices. Interesting and colourful salad bars, a choice of vegetables and a selection of fruit is available as well as encouraging customers to increase their consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables to recommended guidelines.
Harrison will continue to advocate fresh food, promoting healthier eating using high quality, seasonal and delicious food.
