Harrison demonstrates ‘plate to fork’ with compostable packaging

Two years ago, Harrison Catering Services made a bold decision, to switch all their branded packaging to Vegware’s biodegradable and compostable packaging. They led the way and were the first biggest contract caterer to go completely compostable.

Vegware is now used within the business and brings huge environmental benefit. It’s all low carbon, plastic free and made from renewable resources. Graeme White Purchasing Manager is very enthusiastic about the switch ‘Just by switching to Vegware, we’ve managed to save 22.7 tonnes of carbon since January 2016 – that’s the equivalent of 39 flights from London to New York. All of the packaging is also completely compostable, helping us work towards our goal of zero waste to landfill’.

This is a simple and green solution and helps show that small changes can make a big difference.
