Harrison Catering Services is proud to support the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts ‘National Adopt a School Week’ that runs from 5-9 March.
Adopt a School (AAS) is a national charity dedicated to teaching children about food, food provenance, healthy eating, nutrition and the importance of eating together. The week will raise awareness of the important work that AAS sessions deliver to pupils throughout the year.
Harrison has been a key supporter in delivering the sessions to schools since 2013 and firmly believes in the benefits that the sessions bring to children and their families. The sessions are interactive and make learning fun; each attendee is provided with a special junior chef hat to wear throughout the sessions. During the AAS week Harrison will deliver sessions to in excess of 1000 pupils. This number has increased by 61% compared to figures from last year and is testament to the success of the initiative and the commitment of Harrison staff.Alex Taylor, Learning and Development Manager for Harrison said “We’re excited to be involved in such a worthwhile initiative and have been working with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts for a number of years. The sessions are really enjoyed by the pupils and help them form positive eating habits. I would encourage more schools and companies to get involved”.
