Korean Style Chicken Burger with Kimchi

Serves: 6

Ingredients: Method:
  • 6 boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 120ml Heinz Korean BBQ sauce
  • 10g sesame seeds
  • 120g cornflour
  • 6 burger buns
  • 4 tbsp kimchi
  • 1 spring onion
  • Oil for frying
  1. Marinate the chicken thighs in soy sauce, garlic and ginger for at least two hours.
  2. Drain the chicken in a colander.
  3. Coat the chicken in cornflour and deep fry at 160˚C until the chicken is crispy.
  4. Transfer to a baking tray and cook in a preheated oven at 170˚C until cooked through.
  5. Once cooked, toss the chicken in the BBQ sauce until coated and then scatter sesame seeds over each piece.
  6. To assemble, lightly toast the buns, slice the chicken and place it into the bun. Top with some kimchi and sliced spring onions.
