Greek Lamb Burger

Incorporating some lovely, traditional Greek flavours, this isn’t your ordinary burger.

Method

Step 1

To make the tzatziki, mix the cucumber into the yogurt with the chopped mint and a little salt.

Step 2

Mix the onion, breadcrumbs, spices, garlic and parsley into the lamb mince and season with salt and pepper. Add the egg and mix in, then shape into 6 burgers.

Step 3

Heat a griddle pan on the stove ready for cooking the burgers. Toast the burger buns on the griddle first.

Step 4

Tear the little gem lettuce into individual leaves and slice the tomato into 6 slices.

Step 5

Brush the burgers with a little oil and cook on the griddle for about 5 minutes each side, until cooked all the way through.

Step 6

Serve in the buns with the tzatziki, tomatoes and little gem leaves with the feta cheese crumbled on top and a few extra mint leaves for garnish.

Nutrition

The tzatziki in this recipe is a tasty, healthier and lower fat alternative to the traditional mayo in your burger.

Remember to include plenty of lettuce and tomato to get one of your 5 a day.
