Turkish-Style Beef and Feta Lahmacun

Fresh herbs, creamy feta and savoury beef come together in this Turkish-inspired flatbread, packed with bold, Mediterranean-inspired flavour.

Method

  • Step 1

    Make the dough: place the flour, cumin seeds and yoghurt in a mixer and, using the paddle, combine to a dough (add a little water if it is too dry). Chill for 1 hour.

  • Step 2

    Fry the onions and beef in batches in a non-stick pan until all moisture has gone and the beef is coloured.

  • Step 3

    Once cooled, stir through the mint and crumble in the feta.

  • Step 4

    Divide the dough and roll into rounds. Place filling in the middle of each, fold the sides over to form a ball, turn over and re-roll flat until the filling just shows through.

  • Step 5

    Cook each flatbread in a little olive oil over medium heat for 3–4 minutes each side, until golden brown.
