Food Waste Action Week: Working together to make food go further
- Latest News...
March marks WRAP’s Food Waste Action Week, and this year’s theme — “Make Your Food Go Fuuuuuuuurther: for your pocket, for our planet” — highlights the link between reducing waste, protecting the environment and saving money.
We’re proud to continue working in partnership with your school to minimise food waste while protecting your budgets. Reducing unnecessary waste is both an environmental responsibility and a smart financial strategy — and it’s a commitment we support year-round.
As you see each day, our ethos is to prepare quality, fresh food on-site from scratch. This enables our chefs to plan carefully and serve appropriate portion sizes tailored to your pupils. By designing balanced, appealing menus and encouraging pupils to take what they will eat and enjoy, we help maximise uptake, support learning, and naturally reduce plate waste.
We also continue to support awareness initiatives such as WRAP’s ‘Love Food, Hate Waste’ campaign, ensure food waste is correctly segregated in kitchen areas, and work with trusted partners like Olleco to convert used cooking oil into biodiesel. Through responsible sourcing and sustainable packaging choices, we further reduce environmental impact.
Together, we’re making food go further — for your budget and for our planet.
