South Hampstead High School cook crowned School Link Dinner Lady of the Year 2008

Hannah Carlton-Robinson, who manages the contract for Harrison said "this is great news for Ellen, who is extremely popular with everyone at the school.

Ellen Gahan, Harrison Catering's cook at South Hampstead High School has been named is the overall winner in the School Link Dinner Lady of the Year Award 2008.

She received her award from Nora Sands, the dinner lady made famous by the Jamie Oliver series, Jamie's School Dinners, at a special ceremony held at the school on 9th September.

The award comes just one year after Harrison took over the contract, in which time they have worked in partnership with the school to introduce their own style of fresh food and healthy menus, all of which have been extremely well accepted by pupils and staff alike.

Hannah Carlton-Robinson, who manages the contract for Harrison said "this is great news for Ellen, who is extremely popular with everyone at the school. She has adapted quickly to our new menus and produces a consistently high quality of food and service for the school. Ellen is a fantastic cook, and it's great that her hard work as been recognised in this way."

As well as a special commemorative plate, the school will receive over £2,000 of books from the award sponsors.
