Roast Dinner Day in Bexley

The great British roast continues to be a firm favourite in the London Borough of Bexley, where Harrison have provided the catering since 2007. Our Lady of the Rosary primary school recently held a special "Roast Dinner" day which was opened to children, parents, grandparents, staff and governors. This was an opportunity for the local community to come together over a fabulous meal and for us to showcase the quality of our fresh food offer.
The day was an outstanding success thanks to the hard work of the school cook Carol and her team in the kitchen. A very early start was required to make sure the event went smoothly and they all worked extremely hard to pull it all together.
Normally the school would have 130 children having lunch - but on this special day there were 257 children, 50 parents and grandparents plus 22 staff and 3 governors! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the lunch and was extremely complementary to the catering team. In fact many of the visitors asked if they could come every day!
Head Teacher John Murphy was delighted with the success of the activity and reflected on the constant commitment of the catering team. His note of thanks to us ended thus: "Just to finally say Carol and her team are excellent." We think so too!
Many thanks also have to go to Our Lady of the Rosary's management team for providing the necessary support to make events like this go with a swing.
The menu for the day was as follows:
Roast Turkey with Homemade Stuffing
Or
Cheesy Courgette Patties
Roast Potatoes
Kentish Savoy Cabbage
Peas and Carrots
Kentish Raspberry Cake with Custard
Or
Fresh Fruit Platter
