Founders day at the University of London
Thursday 26 November 2009
Harrison Catering has provided the food service at the University of London since September 2007, and last night we were delighted to be providing high tea and canapes for the 'Founders Day' celebrations. This event is where the University of London celebrates the anniversary of its establishment by Royal Charter in 1836.
The Chancellor, HRH Princess Anne, presided at the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary Degrees and afterwards they held a canapé reception for 400 guests and VIPs.
The reception was put together by the UoL catering team, supported by Company Executive Chef Mark Stower and several members of our Executive Relief team. Between them they created and served over 4,000 hot and cold canapés on the night, ranging from mini steak-frites with bearnaise sauce to salmon tikka spoons and one-bite cottage pies. According to the University's Vice-Chancellor, our team 'surpassed themselves' on the night.
All we can say is it was a pleasure to be involved.
