Food with thought – The Harrison Blog
Food photography, behind the scenes
Thursday 12 November 2009
Today I had the pleasure of joining Harrison Company Executive Chef Mark Stower and top food photographer Martin Brigdale at Martin's home studio for a food photo shoot. Martin has worked with world-leading chefs such as Michel Roux (on his new book 'Pastry', for example) and high-end specialist food suppliers such as Forman & Field - so as you can imagine, he's no mug behind the viewfinder.
The process of a shoot is remarkable, in this case combining Mark's vision of how Harrison food ought to look with Martin's expertise on how to make it happen. This really is food with thought: simples dishes made from great ingredients, shot using the best kit by the most skilled artist. The results are fabulous - and Martin hasn't even worked his visual magic with them on-screen yet! So watch this space for an update of our new images.
In the meantime, the best way to get behind the scenes is to look at some pictures of the shoot. Follow this link to go to Harrison Catering's Photobucket page, where you can trace the 2 hours I spent with Mark and Martin to see the process they go through.
