Our experience in maintained school catering goes back to 1983. We firmly believe that eating habits can only be improved by making the alternatives to fast food more appealing, which we have succeeded in doing in a wide range of schools.
Much has been said as to how to improve the diet and wellbeing of our young people. We believe there is only one clear solution - provide healthy and tasty meals that young people are going to enjoy and will actually want to eat. Only then will we see parents trusting caterers with the wellbeing of their children and an increase in the national uptake of school meals.
"We believe that Harrison continue to be the best solution for our school meal service within the borough. We have developed a fantastic working relationship over the past few years and I’m sure that this will continue, much to the benefit of those using the service."
David Shailes, School Services Manager
London Borough of Ealing
"Pupils and staff have been delighted by the continued improvements Harrison have made to our catering services — take-up has never been better. Visitors to the School never fail to comment on the high standards that we enjoy. Home prepared dishes, rather than convenience foods, and healthier options have been particularly popular. The management team is excellent — attentive, resourceful and forward-looking."
Robert Hewitt, Headmaster
West Hill School
"Harrison's school meals have certainly made a difference to the way our students eat and perceive food. The meals are delicious and the choice is varied to provide very well balanced menus. Our students certainly enjoy lunchtimes. We have also worked with Harrison on the health aspect of school lunches and on how our dining room can be better utilised to reduce queuing and seat more people at a time."
Sir Michael Wilshaw, Principal
Mossbourne Community Academy
"In 2004 Harrison was successful in being appointed as the main supplier for our school meals service. This decision has proved to be the best decision ever made as Harrison turned round overnight a service that was until then very unsatisfactory with on-going customer dissatisfaction and customer complaints, resulting in falling meal numbers. Good food and service standards now prevail and are consistent."
